PUBLIC INVITATION FOR THE PRESENTATION OF LEGENDS at the Medvode Cultural Festival 2023

We invite performers (individuals and groups) to participate in the Medvode cultural festival, who will present the legends of their hometown at the festival. The festival will take place between May 15 and May 21, 2023

In 2023, the Medvoški cultural festival under the slogan "Legends med vodami" will also present legends from other parts of Slovenia and Europe to visitors. At the junction of the Sava and Sora rivers, we will create a symbolic round table of different cultures, with which we urge the public to a peaceful intercultural dialogue in all areas of activity; at the same time, we create a space for learning about heritage, culture and art in an interesting and innovative way.

 

We invite performers (individuals and groups) to participate in the Medvode cultural festival, who will present the legends of their hometown at the festival.

 

Conditions to be met by applicants:

 

The individual contractor must be of legal age (18+), in the case of a minor, the applicant must be accompanied by an adult, which must be indicated on the application form. In the case of a group of contractors, the applicant designates a representative of the group, who must be of legal age and assumes responsibility for any minors in the group.

 

Selection criteria: innovation and originality as well as experience of the contractor.

 

The application should contain a correctly completed application form, a short CV or a presentation of the contractor with relevant experience (maximum A4 page) and a photo or sketch of the proposed presentation.

 

The presentation of the selected legends will probably take place on the sixth and seventh day of the festival (May 20 or May 21, 2023), presumably outdoors, in the city center of Medvod. In case of rain, the organizer arranges a backup location.

 

Send applications to the address kultura@zavodsotocje.si no later than March 15, 2023, with the note "MKF 2023 – legends".

 

The commission will review the applications and select the contractors within seven days of the deadline. Candidates will be notified of the selection by March 23, 2023. The organizer will provide the selected performers with two meals a day. Free accommodation is also possible for performers who come from more distant places or who will represent the legends for two days.
